Meeting for the second time in the space of a week, Dallas will travel to California in the early hours of Sunday when they meet LA Galaxy.
Starting with the hosts, enduring what has been a public MLS crisis this season and breaking a string of unwanted record, LA Galaxy find themselves in the midst of an infamous rut. Sat rock-bottom of the Western Conference, Greg Vanney’s men are limping their way over the finishing line and simply can’t wait to see the back of the 2025 campaign. Last seen falling to a 2-1 loss away at Dallas, the ex-Toronto boss has seen his squad muster just a single win from any of their previous six appearances across all competitions. With their extended issues underlined by a 3-2 defeat at home against Cincinnati on September 21st, Los Galacticos have also gained a real reputation for their glaring defensive struggles. In fact, the MLS Giants have mustered just a sole clean sheet from any of their last 12 consecutive outings – a run that stems all the way back to August 8th. Likewise, shipping 64 goals in their 32 domestic showdowns this season, LA Galaxy hold the second-worst defensive tally in the Western Conference.
As for the visitors, mounting a comeback on home soil last week as they secured that 2-1 victory against Los Galacticos, Dallas will certainly be smelling the chance to make another public statement here. Skyrocketing their way up the Western Conference standings, Eric Quill’s men have embarked on a sensational run of form. Riding what has been a major wave of momentum, the Burn have registered 10 points from their previous four MLS appearances. It should also be noted, the Texas-based outfit are unbeaten in all of their last eight straight domestic battles. Storming their way to a stellar 3-1 win against Colorado on September 21st, the former Columbus coach finds the mood in his camp at a real high. Knowing that they can officially punch a shock play-off ticket this weekend, Dallas also hold what is a dominant record against Sunday’s opponents. Including that 2-1 win at the Toyota Stadium last time out, Quill’s side have astonishingly won six of their previous seven showdowns against their Western Conference foes.
