Director David Michôd has called his latest film Christy an “important story for women in coercive relationships.”
The movie follows the life of famous boxer Christy Martin and premiered at the BFI London Film Festival (October 17) at the Royal Festival Hall.
Michôd called Martin an “extraordinary women, with a gigantic personality,” before stressing her story of living in a coercive controlling relationship is part of a global emergency.
