Begin Interview:

Hello Euften, we’re thrilled to have you here for this interview! We've had an amazing time exploring your music and diving into your creative journey. Now, we’re even more intrigued to get a deeper look into both your brand and your personal and professional inspirations.

Q. "Nostalgia Dance" is such a powerful nostalgic homage, and the contemporary flair you’ve added is incredible. Additionally, your vocals are truly unique and so emphatic, we were truly blown away. After experiencing this emotionally charged track, we’re truly moved. Can you share the backstory behind why you created "Nostalgia Dance" and what inspired it?

A. Thank you for the inspiring feedback! Earlier this year I lost my mother who suffered from a very complicated form of pneumonia. I had the hardest three months of my life, watching her life being taken away from her day by day. One day, when things had calmed down a bit and I finally had enough strength to pick up my guitar again, I started practicing. While improvising, my ear caught a nostalgic melody that reminded me of childhood and my mother’s warmth - the same melody that can now be heard at the beginning of the song. Every other part of the song came to life naturally after I recorded those first guitar notes.

Q. The title "Nostalgia Dance" is so evocative; it captures so much emotion in just two words. What’s the deeper meaning behind those words, and how does it reflect the soul of the song?

A. This title came to my mind purely because of what I heard in the main melody. Then suddenly, I realized why it felt like an emotional inner dance of feelings and memories. It all started to make sense when I remembered that, in her early days, my mother was going to become a ballerina — and she actually did very well until she suffered an unfortunate injury during rehearsals. Sadly, her parents didn’t let her continue on that path. She told me this story when I was a little boy, and it stayed with me ever since. I could never understand how her parents could stop her dream from coming true.

Q. We love your artist name, it's so unique and intriguing. Can you share the backstory behind how you chose the name Euften and what it represents to you?

A. This is actually the name of the main character from my own fantasy world, which I started creating back in 2012 for a story/book I was writing. Of course, it was never finished as a book, because the story in that world is actually being written by my real-life events — and within the book, everything is wrapped in fantasy and symbolism that eventually becomes its own separate tale. The character wakes up in the Star Kingdom high above the clouds and is asked to help in the war against the Titans, since his father — who always protected this land — has mysteriously gone missing. So I think this story won’t be finished anytime soon, but some parts of it reach our world through our songs.

Q. This song clearly comes from such a raw, personal place. Did creating it help you process your grief, or did it transform into something even more powerful than you initially expected?

A. Even though the origin of the song is deeply personal — and it definitely helped me to keep moving forward — after finishing it, I realized that the result, especially within the hard rock power ballad genre, became something much more open and universal. It’s a way to connect with all the people who’ve had to walk through such a dark and cold path, and who now must live without the closest person in their world — to stay together and strong. It’s like saying: I know how you feel, I feel it too, and we’re not alone.

Q. "Eruvin Studio" sounds like the perfect creative haven for you. Why did you decide to build your own space, and how does it shape the music you create within it?

A. This place is a small magical world for me — a space where I can hide from the outer world for a while to create and record music. I’ve always wanted to have such a place since childhood, as I’ve always been interested not only in music as an artist and creator, but also as a sound engineer. I love to experiment and tweak things for a long time — sometimes way too long — but at the end of the day, I end up with something that sounds as close to my idea as it can be.

Q. The "blacksmith hits" are such an original touch, these cinematic sounds you use are unlike anything we've heard. What inspired that concept, and what do those sounds represent in the song’s atmosphere?

A. Thank you for noticing! These are some small details I like to blend into our songs. They often sound like a blacksmith forging a blade, usually combined with some orchestral or atmospheric fade-ins — and sometimes fade-outs. It brings us closer to Euften’s world, giving the feeling of something being forged and created with honest effort and strength. In the case of this song, we’re forging our armor to prepare for a new life without our loved one.

Q. When writing something this deeply personal, do you find the melody comes first, or is it the emotions that guide the composition and structure of the song?

A. For me, it’s always the main melody that unlocks everything inside — including the emotions that lead the way while creating the rest of the song.

Q. Honoring your mother’s memory must have been both challenging and incredibly meaningful. How did you ensure the song stayed true to her spirit and captured the essence of what she meant to you?

A. I believe that a big part of her spirit has always been within me, and that feeling only grew stronger after she left this world. With that in mind, I feel like we both wrote this song together. In the lyrics, there’s a line saying “You’re closer than you’ve been,” which refers to that exact feeling.

Q. Looking at how the song evolved, how did the final version of "Nostalgia Dance" differ from the very first spark of inspiration you had for it?

A. The main guitar melody didn’t change at all. Of course, there are some additional harmonies, especially in the interlude and solo parts, but the main idea stayed the same from day one. The chorus melody was also born that very first day. The verses, on the other hand, went through a few changes during the process, as I wanted to fit as much emotion and story detail into those few lines as possible while keeping them simple and memorable. In the end, the final version didn’t drift far from the original idea.

Q. The 80s hard rock vibe in "Nostalgia Dance" is so potent, has this genre always been in your musical DNA, or did it evolve over time as you explored different sounds and influences?

A. I think, in a way, it has always been in my blood, because my father used to listen to bands like Alice Cooper, Def Leppard, Guns N’ Roses, and Slade. I just naturally loved them all.

Q. The metal opera album sounds like an incredible next step for you! Can you share more details on what listeners can expect, and what’s motivating this exciting new direction in your music?

A. Despite our love for hard rock and power ballads, in our twenties me and our guitarist Darius discovered that we really loved power metal — bands like Freedom Call, Stratovarius, and my number one, Gamma Ray. Then, all of a sudden, we found out about Edguy and Avantasia — those projects ignited something inside Euften’s world, and I realized that a metal opera infused with hard rock elements could be one of the best ways to build a bridge between my fantasy world and reality.

Q. Beyond music, who or what has had the greatest impact on your personal growth and artistic perspective over the years?

A. Despite my parents, who will always be my authorities, I think fantasy stories, like The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, shaped my understanding of what I find beautiful and what I call real magic. I also have to give some credit to the TV series Hercules: The Legendary Journeys.

Q. When people hear your music and read this interview, what do you want them to remember most about you as an artist?

A. If somebody liked the song enough to read this entire interview, it means a lot to me personally and to the whole band! We’d love to hear from you - send us a message with your thoughts!

Q. If there’s one thing you want listeners to take away from "Nostalgia Dance," what would it be?

A. I hope listeners take the armor of love and positivity we forge in this song to stay strong and keep fighting for as long as it takes.

Q. Euften, thank you so much for opening up and sharing these intimate details. What’s next for you? Can you give us a sneak peek into your upcoming projects and what fans should be excited about in the near future? We’d love to hear it directly from you!

A. Right now, we’re deep into work on the Metal Opera album we mentioned earlier, and we’re super excited to share that another single is on its way and should be out later this year!

Euften, thank you so much, we appreciate you taking the time to talk to us!
