The Harry Potter reboot continues to reveal new cast members, and fans have reason to be excited.

According to Redandian Intelligence, Jake Curran has been cast as Ronan, a centaur who was left out of the original Sorcerer’s Stone film.

In the books, Ronan is a key ally of Firenze and the fiery centaur Bane, and he first meets Hagrid while investigating the death of a unicorn.

Ronan’s scenes were completely removed from the 2001 movie, leaving only Firenze on screen. If Curran’s casting is confirmed, it could address one of the earliest films’ biggest issues.

Ronan may not appear often in the books, but he plays important roles in three major moments. He protects Hermione, Ron, and Harry when they visit Grawp, leads the centaurs into the Battle of Hogwarts, a scene that was cut from the movies, and uses his divination powers to warn of war, repeating the phrase “Mars is bright.” This prophecy sets up both the future dangers at Hogwarts and Firenze’s later role teaching Divination.

One of the most exciting aspects of Curran’s casting is the possibility of improved centaur visuals. The original Sorcerer’s Stone was criticized for its dark and unconvincing CGI during the centaur scenes, making it hard for viewers to see what was happening.

Curran physically resembles Ronan (minus the horse half), and his involvement hints that the new film may finally bring realistic and impressive centaur effects.

This move suggests the reboot will not only restore missing characters but also fix some of the visual problems that have aged poorly in the original movies. Fans can expect a more faithful and visually appealing depiction of Hogwarts’ magical creatures, which could be one of the reboot’s most popular improvements.
