Fans of the Marvel universe got an unexpected surprise after Jessica Jones star Krysten Ritter accidentally gave them a look at the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 trailer.
The actress, who appeared alongside Charlie Cox at the Daredevil: Born Again panel during New York Comic Con 2025, has been very active on Instagram, sharing photos and videos from the event. But among her many reposts, one short clip she shared appeared to include part of the yet-to-be-released trailer for the new season.
The official trailer was shown exclusively to fans attending the Comic Con panel, but it hasn’t been made public online. Thanks to Ritter’s repost, a brief moment from that trailer ended up on her Instagram Story. The short video mostly highlighted Jessica Jones’ return to the screen, teasing her sharp attitude and her signature strength.
Those who caught the repost noticed several interesting details. The short footage showed Ritter’s character back in action, Vincent D’Onofrio returning as Wilson Fisk, and Charlie Cox’s Daredevil standing ready for another battle in New York. It also hinted that Foggy Nelson, a character believed to have died earlier in the series, might make a surprising comeback.

— MCU Film News (@MCUFilmNews) October 12, 2025Scream actor Matthew Lillard will join the cast in Season 2 as a new character named Mr. Charles, a political rival to Fisk. Brad Winderbaum, Head of Marvel TV, talked about what fans can expect from the new season, saying, “The story is about power. When Wilson Fisk takes over New York, not just as a mayor but as a king in a way, it puts him in a new class of power players on the international stage. Matthew Lillard’s character represents that.”
Winderbaum also confirmed that Daredevil: Born Again will connect to the next Spider-Man movie, which has only fueled more excitement among fans ahead of the show’s planned March 2026 release.
During the panel, Charlie Cox shared how things will get tougher for Matt Murdock this season. “[Matt and Fisk] made a pact at the beginning of season 1, which was one of the great scenes we shot in that season,” Cox explained. “By the time we get to season 2, that deal is off the table. All bets are off. The world has changed a lot for Matt and Super Heroes in general. It’s a much more sinister world for people who are trying to do the right thing.”
Cox also laughed about his off-screen friendship with D’Onofrio, saying, “Shockingly, Vincent and I are very good friends off screen. So the longer we get to keep making [this show] the better.”
Ritter spoke about what it felt like to step back into the role of Jessica Jones after so many years. “It was surreal but also as if no time had passed,” she said. “I love Charlie so much as a person. I love being with him and acting with him, and I love playing these characters. It felt big and celebratory and larger than life.”
Cox added that having Ritter back made the show feel more alive. “It’s so exciting to have Kristen back and to have JJ in the show,” he said. “But as soon as I read that, I was like, ‘Great, there’s going to be a lot of snarky comments about Daredevil and his ears or whatever.’”
Ritter laughed and replied, “Oh yeah, any time we get a chance to improvise, I’m going to make fun of Charlie.”
— Marvel Studios (@MarvelStudios) October 11, 2025While Ritter’s social media post might have been a simple mistake, it certainly worked in Marvel’s favor. The small leak has only made fans more eager to see what’s next for Daredevil: Born Again.
