Minami Katsu climbs in rankings despite Buick LPGA Shanghai playoff loss to Jeeno Thitikul

Amid the heartbreaking loss against Jeeno Thitikul at the Buick LPGA Shanghai, Minami Katsu made a seven-spot move in the Rolex Women's Golf Rankings. The emerging star has moved inside the top 50 and is now ranked 43rd in the latest update.

On Sunday, October 12, Minami Katsu entered the Buick LPGA Shanghai with a 54-hole, two-stroke lead. She continued her good form on Day 4 as well, but Thitikul brought her top game and fired a low 63 to tie with Katsu. Both upped their game in the playoff, which went till the fifth hole for the result.

As per the latest rankings, Jeeno Thitikul strengthened her hold at the top with the Shanghai win, while Nelly Korda was second. Lydia Ko is currently third, followed by Minjee Lee, who also finished solo third this week.
