Showtime’s hit psychological thriller Yellowjackets is nearing its final chapter. The series will officially wrap up with its fourth season, marking the end of its acclaimed run on Paramount+ and Showtime.

Production for the last set of episodes is planned to start in 2026. As before, new episodes will stream on Paramount+ for Premium subscribers.

In a statement shared online, showrunners and executive producers Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson said the decision came after careful thought.

“After three incredible seasons, and great consideration, we’re excited to announce that we will be bringing the story of Yellowjackets to its twisted conclusion in this fourth and final season,” they said.

“We’ve always known there would come a point when the story would tell us it wants to end, and it’s our belief that our job — our responsibility — is to listen.”

They added that creating the series has been a deeply meaningful experience.

“Telling this emotional, wild and deeply human story has been a profoundly meaningful experience and a true honor for us,” their statement continued. “Most of all, we want to thank the fans who have stuck with us through every moment, mystery and meal — the Hive is nothing without you!”

Season 4 is expected to follow the same release format, airing weekly on Showtime while being available for streaming. Discussions are also underway for Lyle and Nickerson to continue working with Paramount after Yellowjackets concludes.

Since its debut, Yellowjackets has gained strong critical and audience praise for its mix of psychological drama, mystery, and survival storytelling.

The show has earned multiple Emmy nominations, including one for Outstanding Drama Series, and acting nods for Melanie Lynskey and Christina Ricci. It has also been recognized by the Writers Guild of America, the Television Critics Association, and the Critics Choice Awards.

The series became Showtime’s second most-streamed title, with its third season pulling in record-breaking viewership.

Season 3 faced production delays due to the 2023 Hollywood strikes but eventually premiered in February 2025. The network renewed the show for its final season in May, confirming that the story would officially reach its end in 2026.
