Belinda Carlisle performed The Go-Go’s ‘We Got The Beat’ at Sammy Hagar‘s birthday party. Watch it below.

Hagar spent last week celebrating his 78th birthday with a series of shows at his Cabo Wabo resort in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

Over the course of the week, he was joined by a string of guests, including Carlisle who made a surprise appearance at Saturday’s (October 11) gig.

The musician joined Hagar for a rendition of the Go-Go’s 1980 hit ‘We Got the Beat’, before she then performed her 1987 solo hit, ‘Heaven Is a Place on Earth’, with Hagar’s backing band. Watch the moment below.

Other guests at the birthday celebrations have included Anthrax vocalist Joey Belladonna, Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony, Bon Jovi guitarist Phil X, and Alice in Chains‘ Jerry Cantrell has also been a recurring guest, playing guitar across the week.

In other news, Green Day‘s Billie Joe Armstrong joined The Go-Go‘s on stage at Coachella 2025 for a performance of their 1984 hit single ‘Head Over Heels’.

The set also marked one of the first live performances from the original five members of the Go-Go’s – singer Belinda Carlisle, lead guitarist Charlotte Caffey, rhythm guitarist Jane Wiedlin, bassist Kathy Valentine and drummer Gina Schock – in seven years.

As for Hagar, earlier this year he announced a new live album that will capture his band’s Las Vegas residency.

Last November, his and Guy Fieri’s joint tequila business Santo Tequila experienced a hijack, with thieves stealing two trucks with roughly $1million of merchandise in Texas. A total of 4,040 were reportedly stolen.

Elsewhere, Hagar’s public feud with Alex Van Halen is ongoing, with the two apparently not having spoken in 21 years. After the latter left the singer’s years in Van Halen out of his memoir Brothers, Hagar recently speculated that the root cause of the beef might be jealousy.

Hagar was also part of a supergroup that performed at Black Sabbath’s poignant final show in July, singing ‘Flying High Again’ and ‘Rock Candy’ with Tom MorelloExtreme’s Nuno Bettencourt, Living Colour’s Vernon Reid, Quiet Riot’s Rudy Sarzo, Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith and Ozzy Osbourne’s band’s Adam Wakeman.
