The final pre-trial hearing has wrapped up for a Wisconsin man accused of killing his newborn when he was 16.

Logan Kruckenberg Anderson, 21, is accused of tossing his newborn daughter, Harper, into the woods in January 2021. The incident reportedly happened days after the newborn’s mother gave birth at a residence in the Village of Albany.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, on January 9, 2021, the maternal grandfather contacted police and informed them that his daughter had given birth and that Kruckenberg Anderson took the baby and hadn’t been seen since.

When police located Kruckenberg Anderson, he allegedly told investigators he gave the child to a friend named “Tyler.”

The baby’s mother later told police that they had decided they couldn’t keep the baby and needed to do something with her, WIFR reports.

Law enforcement found Harper’s body with gunshot wounds in the woods, hidden in snow. Police subsequently arrested the defendant and charged him as an adult.

He later confessed to shooting the baby twice in the head. A criminal complaint stated that a juvenile told police that Kruckenberg Anderson gave him a firearm.

The firearm matched bullets found next to Harper’s body, Law&Crime reports.

Kruckenberg Anderson’s trial has been set for October 27. He’s facing charges that include first-degree homicide and hiding the corpse of a child.

Harper’s mother has not been charged.
