A few months ago, I learned something very important. Everything in life feels super important. Work. Friends. Social media. Money. Even small things like what to eat or where to go. It all felt like it mattered.
But then something happened that changed everything.
It was during my period. I was not feeling well at all. That day I almost died. I do not say this for drama. It was real. My body was in so much pain. I could not breathe properly. I felt dizzy. I felt like I was slipping away.
Saturday Was Great Until It Felt Like My Last Day on Earth
In that moment, all the things I thought were important did not matter anymore. All that mattered was staying alive. Staying healthy. I realized that if I did not take care of myself, none of the other things would matter.
That day I decided to change.
I started small. I began exercising every day. Nothing too extreme. Just a few stretches and light workouts. I also started meditating. At first, it felt awkward. But slowly, it helped me feel calm.
I also began to pay attention to what I ate. Before, I would eat whatever I wanted. Fast food, sugary snacks, and junk that made me feel tired. Now I ask my body what it needs. I choose food that helps me feel good and strong.
Most importantly, I started living more in the moment. I stopped worrying about things that I cannot control. I learned to enjoy small things. A deep breath. A walk in the park. Time with loved ones.
Over time, things started to get better. I felt more energy. I slept better. I smiled more. I feel healthier. I feel happier.
But health is not just about the body.
I also learned that mental health is very important. It helps you deal with stress, anxiety, and fear. I started writing down my thoughts and practicing gratitude. Talking to someone I trust helped a lot too.
Emotional health is about how you handle feelings. I learned to accept my emotions without judging myself. I spent time with people who care and tried not to bottle things up.
Spiritual health is about finding peace and meaning. I started sitting quietly, focusing on my breath, and feeling connected to something bigger than myself. It gave me strength during tough days.
Financial health is also important. Stress about money can affect everything else. I started tracking my expenses, saving a little each month, and avoiding unnecessary purchases. It gave me peace of mind.
There are other areas like sleep, relationships, even how you spend your free time. But all of them are connected. If one is weak, the others can suffer.
This experience taught me something simple but powerful. Do not take your health for granted. Be selfish about it. It is okay to put yourself first when it comes to your well being.
Everything else can wait. Your health cannot.
Take care of yourself. Exercise your body. Calm your mind. Accept your feelings. Find peace within. Be smart with your money. Because without health, nothing else really matters.
