Nigerian former Footballer, Emmanuel Emenike, has condemned the ongoing demolition of homes.

Naija News reports that Emenike, in a post on his Instagram page, claimed that the demolition is targeted at a particular tribe in the country.

Emenike blamed the Igbos over the demolitions, stating that they do not invest in their home states.

He urged the Igbos to start investing in other states, such as Abuja, Anambra, and Delta.

He wrote, “His biggest achievement since he became the governor is to destroy homes of a particular tribe. You will pay for that belive me, the problem with my people Ndi Igbo is that they don’t have ear sp they should enjoy the demolition.

“You can do your business in Abuja, Anambra, Imo, Abia, Enugu even Delta State.”

Meanwhile, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 general election, Peter Obi, has lamented over the demolition of properties by the government without prior notice or due process.

Speaking via a statement issued on Monday, Obi condemned the demolition of citizens’ properties and destruction of goods by government authorities, describing such actions as “willful” and “inhumane.”

He fumed that President Bola Tinubu’s administration has sent several million Nigerians into poverty in a space of 29 months.

According to the former Anambra governor, the demolitions “destroy livelihoods, undermine businesses, and threaten the economic security of hardworking citizens.”
