The cast of Daredevil: Born Again gave fans an exciting glimpse at the upcoming second season during Marvel Television’s panel at New York Comic Con 2025.
Star Charlie Cox shared some details about what viewers can expect as Matt Murdock faces off against Wilson Fisk, the Kingpin, in a battle that will shape the future of New York City.
“[Matt and Fisk] made a pact at the beginning of season 1, which was one of the great scenes we shot in that season,” Cox explained. “By the time we get to season 2, that deal is off the table. All bets are off. The world has changed a lot for Matt and Super Heroes in general. It’s a much more sinister world for people who are trying to do the right thing.”
Despite their characters’ fierce rivalry, Cox said he and Vincent D’Onofrio are close friends off-screen. “Shockingly, Vincent and I are very good friends off screen,” Cox said with a laugh. “So the longer we get to keep making [this show] the better.”
Krysten Ritter also joined the panel, confirming she will return as Jessica Jones. Ritter spoke about stepping back into her role six years after her original series ended. “It was surreal but also as if no time had passed,” she said. “I love Charlie so much as a person. I love being with him and acting with him, and I love playing these characters. It felt big and celebratory and larger than life.”
The pair joked about their on-screen chemistry and playful banter. “It’s so exciting to have Kristen back and to have JJ in the show,” Cox said. “But as soon as I read that, I was like, ‘Great, there’s going to be a lot of snarky comments about Daredevil and his ears or whatever.’”
“Oh yeah, any time we get a chance to improvise, I’m going to make fun of Charlie,” Ritter added with a laugh.

With the return of key characters and the addition of Jessica Jones, season 2 promises to raise the stakes and deliver more drama and action for the MCU’s street-level heroes. It’s exciting to see these characters return and expand their stories.
