The two new singles mark the beginning of “undux,” a full-length album shaped by personal upheaval and the quiet strength of rebuilding.

Kaskade is entering a new personal chapter with “DNCR” and “Imprint,” two emotionally charged singles that open the curtain on undux, his forthcoming album. Released today, the tracks capture a producer stepping back from spectacle to lean into memory and connection.

“DNCR” sets the pace with an upbeat arrangement built around a haunting vocal refrain that echoes: “What you need / I could be the answer / Take my lead / You make me a dancer.” The percussion locks into a tight house groove, underscored by warm, propulsive piano chords that drive the arrangement forward.

“This song taps into the power of surrender – the way connection can pull you out of your own head and into the present moment,” explained Kaskade. “‘You make me a dancer’ isn’t just about movement; it’s about being moved by another person’s energy. Dancing is an exercise in vulnerability and trust. It’s about rediscovering joy in the middle of struggle – being reminded that sometimes, the answer is just to let go and move.”

Featuring rising vocalist Courtney Storm, “Imprint” follows with a more introspective approach, exploring the ache of emotional imperfection: “I’ve been looking through these pages / Trying to wrap my head around / Why the story’s reading backwards / Without feeling overwhelmed.” Storm’s voice floats over glacial chords and a pulsing low end, matching the lyrics with a raw performance.

Kaskade explains that the lyrics are “about memory, perspective, and the marks people leave on our lives – sometimes permanent, sometimes like ink that fades.” He said the track came during “a stretch where I’ve had to sit with a lot of change, confusion, and reflection,” and helped him process emotions that didn’t have clear answers. “It’s me saying, I’m still here, and I’m still being written.”

Together, the new singles suggest an album less concerned with club pomp and more with vulnerability, prioritizing memory without sacrificing momentum. They recall the melodic warmth of his early work but carry the weight of experience and creative control.
