AMC is expanding its vampire world once again. The Vampire Lestat, the follow-up to Interview with the Vampire, is now being filmed in Toronto and is set to hit screens in 2026.
During New York Comic Con, fans were treated to an early preview of the upcoming series. Executive producers Johnson and Hannah Moscovitch joined the show’s stars Sam Reid, Jacob Anderson, Eric Bogosian, Assad Zaman, and Jennifer Ehle to share a special extended teaser and talk about what’s coming next for Anne Rice’s dark universe.

— Anne Rice's Immortal Universe (@AMCsAnneRice) October 11, 2025One of the biggest reveals of the panel came with the casting announcement of Akasha, the legendary Queen of the Damned. The role, originally played by the late Aaliyah in the 2002 film, will now be taken on by The Woman King star Sheila Atim.
According to AMC and Gaye Magazine, the show also introduced new faces joining Lestat’s rock band. Noah Reid from Schitt’s Creek will play Larry, Ryan Kattner from Destroy All Neighbors will appear as Salamander, Seamus Patterson from Cabinet of Curiosities will play Alex, and The Boys actress Sarah Swire will portray TC, short for Tough Cookie. Before teaming up with Lestat, the band went by the name “Satan’s Night Out.”
While the teaser didn’t feature Akasha just yet, fans got a few exciting glimpses. The trailer showed Assad Zaman as Armand, a return of Delainey Hayles as Claudia, and what looked like another appearance from the vampire Bruce. Whether this will be his final moment on screen remains to be seen.
The panel also dropped a surprise crossover tease between Interview with the Vampire and another AMC series in development, Talamasca: The Secret Order. In the scene, Daniel Molloy, who has now become a vampire, meets secretly with a Talamasca agent named Guy Anatole, played by Nicholas Denton.
With filming underway and these storylines beginning to connect, AMC’s Anne Rice universe is clearly growing larger and darker. Fans can expect more gothic drama, twisted relationships, and haunting music when The Vampire Lestat finally premieres.
