Marvel Studios has revealed the first look at its newest series, Wonder Man, set to hit Disney+ on January 27, 2026, at 6 PM PT. The news and trailer drop come directly from Marvel’s official announcement.

The show centers on Simon Williams, a Hollywood stuntman and actor who suddenly ends up with superpowers. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II takes on the lead role, bringing the classic Marvel character to life for the first time in live action.

The series is created by Destin Daniel Cretton and Andrew Guest. Cretton, known for directing Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, also directs several episodes along with Stella Meghie and James Ponsoldt. Guest serves as the showrunner.

Wonder Man is part of Marvel’s Phase Six lineup and falls under the “Marvel Spotlight” label, which focuses on more grounded, personal stories that don’t require watching all previous MCU projects to understand. This new approach aims to tell stories that stand on their own while still being part of the larger Marvel world.

The cast includes several familiar faces. Ben Kingsley returns as Trevor Slattery, his character from Iron Man 3 and Shang-Chi. The show also stars Demetrius Grosse, Ed Harris, and Arian Moayed in supporting roles.

Production kicked off in Los Angeles early in 2023 but was paused during the Writers Guild of America strike. Filming picked up again in January 2024 and wrapped a few months later. By the end of 2024, Marvel officially confirmed the show would have eight episodes.

With its mix of humor, heart, and a focus on a more human side of heroism, Wonder Man might offer a different kind of Marvel story. Fans will soon find out when the series arrives on Disney+ in January 2026.
