Marvel Studios has shared the first details about VisionQuest, an upcoming miniseries on Disney+ that continues the story of Vision.
The series was created by Terry Matalas and is a spin-off of the 2021 show WandaVision. It will be part of Phase Six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is set to premiere in 2026.
Paul Bettany is returning to play Vision, joined by actors including James Spader, Ruaridh Mollica, Todd Stashwick, T’Nia Miller, Emily Hampshire, Orla Brady, Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, and James D’Arcy.
Filming took place at Pinewood Studios in London from March to July. Episodes were directed by Matalas along with Christopher J. Byrne, Gandja Monteiro, and Vincenzo Natali.
The series was first announced in October 2022 under the working title Vision Quest. Jac Schaeffer was originally attached as the head writer but later stepped away. Matalas then redeveloped the show, confirming Bettany’s return.
During Marvel Studios’ panel at New York Comic Con, some first details about the series were revealed. White Vision will have all of the original Vision’s memories but will struggle with understanding emotions.
Ruaridh Mollica will appear as Vision’s and Wanda’s son named Speed. Several well-known AI characters from the MCU, including Ultron, F.R.I.D.A.Y., E.D.I.T.H., J.A.R.V.I.S., and DUM-E, will make appearances and take on human forms.
Vision Quest looks like it will explore some interesting emotional territory for Vision while also bringing back familiar MCU faces in new ways. The series is expected to consist of eight episodes, giving fans plenty of time to dive into this story.
